As I began to reflect on all the things in my life that I’m grateful for, I realized there was not enough space here to include them all! So, my short list starts with my beautiful family, without whom I could not manage without their love and support and extends to our so-loved horses and dog, dear friends, the new beginnings that Fall brings (Fall is my favorite season), our smoke-free summer this year, and the opportunity to live and thrive in such a beautiful place.

I’m also grateful to celebrate Bend Lifestyle’s upcoming anniversary—four amazing years and we’re still going strong! I’m so fortunate to have our talented and so-creative editor, Cheryl Parton, at the helm, and our team of talented photographers and writers, some of whom you can meet on the last page of this issue. Each month brings opportunities to connect with our community and I’m thankful to our partners who make this magazine possible.

This issue kicks off the ski season with a feature about snow camping to get the first turns up at the mountain. We also spotlight J Bar J Youth Services and how they support youth in our community. Read on to get creative ideas to cozy up your home and best of all, a delicious pie recipe for Thanksgiving—nothing rings in the season like the smell of baking cinnamon and spices coming from our test kitchen!
