Cascade Youth & Family Center Celebrates 30 Years

For 30 years, Cascade Youth & Family Center (CYFC) has responded to the needs of youth in jeopardy by building programs for runaway and homeless kids, ages 11 and up, by providing family mediation, emergency shelter, street outreach, transitional living (longer-term shelter), and beyond. Each program builds on the last, helping this vulnerable population continue their education, find jobs, and learn skills to become self-sufficient. About their longevity, CYFC Community Programs Director Liz Langmas says it, “Signifies and involves a 30-year sustainable gift to Central Oregon through the youth that will change, contribute, and care about our community now and in the future.” Keeping with their longstanding mission to help kids in jeopardy, CYFC has launched its newest initiative called at: project. The at: project provides support and case management for victims of human trafficking in Central Oregon, helping them become survivors. CYFC is a member of the Deschutes County Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Response Team, which responds to all human trafficking cases in the county. CYFC and at: project are programs of J Bar J Youth Services.
