May brings the celebration of Mother’s Day and as I write this I’m grateful for being a mom! This month reminds us of the women in our lives—our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Where would we be without them?

With this issue, we’ve taken it a step further to celebrate local women who inspire us. Enjoy reading about a group of women who’ve dedicated every Thursday for the past 25 years to gathering in friendship and lending a helping hand. Get a glimpse of a day in the life of realtor Carrie DiTullio, and learn about a mother-daughter team who launched a clothing line that reflects Bend’s adventurous lifestyle.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “A woman is like a tea bag. You can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” For those times you find yourself in a challenging situation, learn from some local leading ladies who share some of their life lessons in this issue.

In Central Oregon, especially this year, spring took a long time to arrive. For some garden color, check out our feature on getting to know your favorite flowers. Here at Bend Lifestyle, we celebrate the season and the special people in our lives and we celebrate you, our readers. Thanks for spending time with us!
