Indoor Fitness Training for Year-Round Active Lifestyles
It’s no secret that Bend is a mecca for people who enjoy an active lifestyle. From mountain biking to rock climbing, downhill skiing to backcountry hiking, and everything in between, Central Oregon offers endless possibilities. An essential part of prepping your body to enjoy the Bend life starts in the gym. Year-round training and conditioning allow you to reach your highest potential both on and off the trails. Timothy Schliebe has owned and operated fitness studios across the country since 1972. Ten years ago, he was drawn to the energy of Central Oregon and founded Schliebe’s L.I.F.T. (Legendary Indoor Fitness Training) in Bend—offering small group fitness classes and personal training sessions for all levels. “The energy and camaraderie at the studio are some of the most appreciated aspects of the L.I.F.T experience,” says Schliebe. “In addition, we provide a safe and highly motivating workout. This team environment, coupled with high quality training, is what will keep you coming back for more,” he says. 514 NW Franklin Avenue, Bend SchliebesLift.com WORKOUT Schliebe’s L.I.F.T. holds a variety of small group classes, many of which are HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). HIIT workouts allow you to push yourself as hard as you can for a short burst, then rest in short intervals. Aside from being great for your heart, the relatively short duration of these workouts is perfect for people who don’t have extra time on their hands. “Functional 55” is a popular small-group class offered at Schliebe’s L.I.F.T. It is beneficial to men and women of all ages. Each exercise is done in sets of 30 seconds at the highest intensity you can manage, followed by 15 seconds of rest, and repeated four times. After completing each four round set, you quickly move on to the next exercise and repeat the process again.
